Durcon® Epoxy Resin Lab Grade Countertops
Material Specifications
- Solid Epoxy Resin: A solid cast, monolithic material molded and oven-cured for uniform construction.
- Cast Composition: Sheets are cast from modified epoxy resin and non-asbestos inert fillers, specifically formulated for exceptional physical and chemical resistance.
- Monolithic Structure: Products are monolithic throughout, eliminating the need for surface coatings or laminates that can peel or degrade.
- Finish: Features a smooth, matte, non-specular, and non-glaring finish that is easy to maintain and reduces eye strain.

- Sanitation: NSF/ANSI Standard 51 rated for food equipment materials and ASTM G22 certified for no bacteria growth.

- Fire Resistance: ASTM E84 Class 1/A
- Heat Distortion: Not less than 260°F
- Water Absorption: Max 0.02% (24 hours)
- Compressive Strength: ASTM D695 - 30,000 psi
Epoxy resin material is not coated or laminated. Compliance requirements are:
- Flexural Strength: Not less than 10,000 psi.
- Modulus of Elasticity: Not less than 2,000,000 psi
- Tensile strength: ASTM D638 - 4100 psi minimum
- Hardness: ASTM 785 - Barcol impressor 55 minimum (Rockwell M): Not less than 100
- Flammability: ASTM E84 class 1/A Flame spread 10 Maximum, smoke developed 25 Maximum
- Heat Distortion Point: Not less than 260 deg F
- Thermal expansion: ASTM D 696: 0.000023 in/in/F Maximum
- Water absorption (24 Hours): Not more than 0.02 percent
- Boiling Water resistance: NEMA LD3, No Effect
- High Temperature resistance: NEMA LD3, No Effect
- Liquid absorption: ASTM D 570 24 hours - 0.06% Maximum
- Bacteria Growth: ASTM G22, No Growth
- Sanitation: National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Standard 51 rating

Minimum order quantities of full pallets will apply. 7 slabs of 1" and 9 slabs of 3/4" offered only to qualified fabricators (QF) with stone cutting or dedicated equipment to fabricate Epoxy tops, with water cooled systems. Slabs are supplied oversized for trimming at your local facility to the finished size required, with MINIMUM waste.
